Jobs
We’re new, and we’re very busy. Think you can help out? We’re looking for a few talented guys and girls to help get the site off the ground. All positions are voluntary, but not without their perks; you’ll receive an ‘@writetrigger.com’ E-Mail address, access to PR and industry contacts, and, potentially, review copies and press passes.
In addition, all contributors will be recognised on the Staff page.
Check out the listings below, then drop us a line using the contact details at the foot of the page.
Writers
We aim to publish well-written, properly-sourced news in a timely fashion. To do that, we need news writers. As a writer – be it news, reviews or editorial – you’ll need to demonstrate exemplary standards of spelling and grammar, and adhere to proper journalistic practices.
You’d need to publish two news stories a week, or one editorial piece a month as an absolute minimum.
Social Media/Community Managers
We’re doing a lot of cool stuff here, but we need people to read it. You’d help spread the good word of Write Trigger and manage the site’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube channels. Previous experience is a bonus, though not compulsory. As you interact with our readers, you’ll be representing the site. Therefore, it is absolutely crucial that you possess fantastic written communication.
Web Developers
We’re looking for a flexible web developer to give the site extra functionality, and to make it look even more awesome. The ideal candidate would be experienced in CSS and HTML. Professional experience is not mandatory.
Video Creators/Editors
While we wouldn’t like to say that nobody reads anymore, videogame coverage is definitely starting to sway towards the audiovisual side of things. We need people. People with capture cards to record footage for previews and reviews amongst other things.
If you have a good quality microphone, narration would also be handy.
Podcast Personalities
We’re starting a podcast, and I don’t think anybody would want to listen to me talk to myself for an hour and a half. A good quality mic is a must, and previous experience is desired.
____________________________________________
So, if you’d like to be there at the start of a new project, rather than get lost in a sea of writers at a website with no direction, then this is the opportunity for you. As new starters, you’ll all get an equal opportunity to impress and become key personnel at the site.
Interested? Drop us a few lines – rory@writetrigger.com
Put the subject as ‘Write Trigger application’ and be sure to include the role you’re applying for, why you think you’re qualified to perform it, and links to any previous work. A CV/resume is a bonus. For reviewers, you’ll also need to tell us what consoles you own.
If you don’t hear back from us, it’s probably because your grammar is atrocious. Sorry.
